This is a quick and easy sour cream container that I whipped up for a Valentines treat for my niece. It took me about 5-10 minutes to make it so it won't be a shame when she rips it open to get at her Hershey Kisses! There are tutorials all over the place for these, I am not sure where I got mine but I saw it a while back. Then I used an ippity stamp set that just came out this past fall, "How YOU Doin'", to make the little heart and the enjoy sentiment. If you are interested in ippity, guess what? I'm an ippity chick! Hippity Hop January 17, 2011

Hello!! If you just started here than you may want to start over at the Unity Blog to get a list of other blogs to visit for awesome inspiration!

So, this is my first blog post for the New Year. The holidays really took a toll on my time! I had no time for anything, including stamping. But, now that Santa is back in the North Pole and the lights and decorations are down I have a little more time to get back to my passion!

With Valentines Day right around the corner I figured that I should get a move on with the treats that Jarod will be taking to his 3rd grade class. I decided to do a matchbox candy holder filled with Hershey Kisses cause everyone loves Hershey Kisses, right? Especially since they changed them to milk chocolate kisses! So here it is:

I used the Gurnsey Gingham stamp from the Fall 2010 {ippity} collection for the background and the "for you" stamp came from the Totally Happy set from the Summer 2010 collection. You can view my {ippity} sales blog here for more information on how to get them.

Here is another view of the box:

For the window I just used a heart shaped fiskers punch and then taped a piece of plastic behind the heart shape. That way those yummy Hershey Kisses won't fall out! By the way, I got the plastic from the packaging that the punch came in! I like to recycle.

Snow or no snow...that is the question!

So, to say the weather here has been crazy the last few weeks is an understatetment. It has been too warm for snow with the exception of one day. Typical for Newfoundland? Nope! Then the wind and the rain has been hitting us like MAD! My 8-year-olds school was closed for three days in a row due to wind...NUTS! It has been blowing up a storm with 150km/hr last week and 110 km/hr today. It do not seem like Christmas here at all. As much as I am not in love with snow, it would be nice to see some for Christmas. It makes it all the much magical.

My kids have different concerns about Santa's big arrival. Jarod (8) don't thing the sleigh is going to be able to get here without snow. I reminded him of all the places in the world that don't get snow and Santa still visits there. Problem number one solved. Nick (3) is a little harder to convince. He watches his dad in the basement putting wood into our furnace...he is afraid that Santa will come down the chimney and get burned. I reminded him of the movie "The Santa Clause" where Santa magically makes a fireplace in the living room if there is none and he don't go into the furnace. He is not convinced. He wants Santa to come through the front door....so we may have to leave a note or email Santa so he avoids the chimney this year.

Too bad the snow didn't stay...just until Boxong Day anyway. We had so much fun out in the snow!

I also got a little crafty this week and finished Jarod's little gifts to his classmates and teachers. He will give those out tomorrow at his last day of school before the Holidays.

 For some reason this picture would not go in right!! It keeps going sideways!

I am hoping to start making my Christmas cards for next year soon, all because of the Christmas Card Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. I didn't have enough cards to go around this year, so hopefully this challenge will help kick my butt!

Anyways, that is the end of this post. I will hopefully be able to make another post before the holidays are gone.

H{ippity} Hop, November 8

I cannot believe that the first week of November is gone already!! Wow! Time is going too fast! With the time flying like it is I started to think about what I will be sending to school with my 8-year-old at christmas for his classmates. I stumbled upon a tutorial for this lovely hot cocoa slider on Kerrys PaperCrafting Blog. You can visit the link to make these wonderful little gifts here. Make sure you take a look at the rest of Kerry's stuff...she is amazing!

I think the kids in Jarod's class will love them! These are the colors that I have picked for the girls...I don't think the boys would appreciate pink!! They are so quick and easy to do that I just may get Jarod to help me with them...wish me luck!

The stamps that I used are from the "Seasons of Joy" stamp set by {Ippity}. It seems to be my favourite set so far since this is twice that I have used that set in a week!
