Dreaming of Summer...

I love summer. Here in Newfoundland it only lasts a couple of months. We get fall for 2 month, Winter for about 5 months, Spring for 3 months and Summer for about 2 months. That's it...Winter dominates BIG TIME! So, today to get out of my wintertime funk I decided to break out a few beach pictures and get them scrapped. I used sketch #240 over at Scrapbook Challenges as my inspiration.

Here is the sketch:

 Here is my page:

I also added Daphney's picture to the page that I had done...

That's my short blog post for today. Check back on Monday for the H{ippity} Hop!

Blast From The Past

Hi everybody!! Hows it going on this cold February day? It is not too bad here...cold, but I did catch a glimpse of the sun earlier!

I have a different kind of project for you today. While I was looking at the Jingle Belles blog (an awesome challenge site to get you motivated to get your Christmas cards done) that I found on my friend Candy's blog, I found another challenge blog. This one is called Flashback Friday Challenges and it challenges you to post (or re-post) one of your past projects that is related to a certain theme. This weeks challenge is the first time you used glitter on a project. Most people are re-posting projects that they have placed on their blogs and they are a couple of years old. My blog is too new for that! So, I decided to take a picture of the very first scrapbook page that I made using glitter...that was made way back in 2002! So, here it is!

This was back in the day for sure!! I had to manage with what I could find in our little town and all I had for inspiration was a book on how to scrapbook. Just about no one in my area scrapbooked at that time either so there was no demand for supplies here. Oh! If you can't see the glitter, it is around some of the balloons. I used glitter glue pens from the dollar store! (I think they are still in my stash!! Man! I have to clean that out!)

So, there you have it! My very first project using glitter. I hope you liked it! I know I had fun!

Happy Monday!!

Let's face it...Monday's suck, right? We just get over the weekend where we can (kinda) relax and then it is back to work and back to routine. The kids go back to school so then it is homework, lunches, and early bedtimes, which can be just as stressful to us as it is for the kids! At least there is one thing to look forward to on Mondays and that is the H{ippity} Hop!!! Most of you no the drill but for those who don't you should start over at the {ippity} blog for a list of participants so you don't miss any of the {ippity} inspiration.

The project I am going to show you today is a scrapbook layout! YAY! Scrapbook was my first passion when starting in the crafty world and I have been out of the scrapbooking for a couple of months now. But, with my newly found love of stamping I figured I would try it on a layout. I didn't go to crazy with the stamping...actually I only used one! LOL! I am still a little scared to use it on a layout...I don't want to mess it up. With this one I used a stamp as the title and cut it out of the white cardstock. Maybe one day I will get the courage to stamp ON my layout!!

I did this one for the Hippity Hop Twist Color Challenge as well. We were supposed to use red, white and blue. I added a little bit of kraft there but most of it will be covered up with my picture. Speaking of picture, I guess you noticed it was missing...my printer ran out of ink! ERRRRR!!!! Here is the picture that I am going to add...I will have it cropped to 5"X5".

And here is a close up of the stamp that I used!

The PEACE stamp is from the "Kissmas and Mistletoe" set from the Fall 2009 collection. I am not really sure where the quote sticker came from...I got it one ebay a looooooong time ago!! Remember, if you are interested in ippity and would like to purchase this stamp set or any others you can check out my sales blog!

Thank you for visiting my blog! Now, continue on the hop to see the others!

Here it goes...

So, this is my first blog! I'm so excited! I have been scrapbooking for almost 10 years and since then I have come a long way. My first "stash" consisted of a 10X10 post bound album, a bunch of card stock, a few gel pens, some stickers and a whole lot of pictures! I cut each piece of paper and glued it into my book (yikes!) and put the pictures and stickers in any order that felt good to me. Today, I'm in the process of getting a whole room to put my stash in because there is just too much stuff for my bedroom! I  have upgraded from those handful of items to more advanced tools such as my much-loved cricut and, most recently, stamps and ink...just to name a few. I really enjoy scrapbooking the most and have also upgraded from that 10X10 post bound book to 12X12 sleeved albums...which is sooooooo much better!! Way less cutting the paper to fit!!

So, for my first post I decided to show you exactly how far I have come by posting a couple of my first pages ever done as well as a few more recent pages...see if you can tell tell the difference! HAHA!

Here's my very first scrapbook page! It is of my baby shower for my first born...Jarod. I guess it was creative with the water droplets to emphasis "shower"!

Here is another one that I did "back in the day".

I now for the more current pages. I have learned alot in the last 10 years thanks to the internet!

So, there it is...my transition over ten years. I hope you enjoyed my first blog. The rest will be new layouts and projects. I will NOT put you through my "starter" pages ever again!  I promise!
